Looking Forward to a Great Year!

Hello past, present, and future members of the Marching Southerners Saxophone Line.
I cannot tell you how excited I am about the upcoming year with the section. Eric Thomas and I would like to welcome you all to another great year filled with fun, sun, hard work, and amazing performances all over the south east.

This site is to further extend the lines of communication throughout the section and serve as a tool to further expose the saxophone section, the Marching Southerners, the music department, and ultimately; Jacksonville State University. Any ideas, thoughts, requests, or inquires regarding the section, band, or school can be posted here.

If anyone has failed to register for band camp, you can do so through the Marching Southerners' main website: www.marchingsoutherners.org
The login/register station is located at the top right corner of the main page.

Things to bring to band camp:

  • Sun screen
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Water container of some sort
  • Tennis Shoes
  • 1" Three ring binder
  • At least 25 plastic page protectors (you can find those at Wal-Mart)
  • Your music
  • A great attitude and a willingness to learn and work hard.

If you have any questions you can reach me at jsusax@gmail.com

Thanks and Blow Saxes!

-Eric C.

Sorry for the inconvenience...

Some of you may need to re-register. If you cannot login, then I'm probably talking to you. This shouldn't happen again, but Chris had to do some cleaning up to the site before 'officially' opening it to the public. If I'm online while you are, PM me and I can do it for you and save you the trouble of the password confirmation process. Any posts you made are still here. They're listed as Annonymous now. Remind me of what you did and I will make sure you get credit for it.

The multimedia section is open. Post all the saxophone pictures (old and new) whenever you can. The Audio is up as well. Any sax music you've privately recorded, composed, whatever can go here as well as any ditties I hope we will record.

Alumni section is ready for new info! I've been working on it, but I'm sure some of you guys have more names and years I can fill in. Make a post on the forum and I'll add it to the list.

Time to start filling up all the empty spaces...

As you've already been informed, Chris and I have most of the site ready. What we are missing is stuff from you guys! Anything you want to contribute to the site, let one of us know and we will see where we can place it. Things we definately need:

  • Pictures to go in the photo gallery
  • Music to go in the sound gallery (music for this site can be anything as far as I'm concerned. I'm defining 'anything' as anything you guys recorded relating to saxophones or at the very least, Southerners)
  • Names and years to go in the Alumni information to be transferred to the Alumni section

That should cover everything for now. On another note, the site will be linked to the Southerners home soon. Watch for a post on the Southerners forum.

Features!

Features:

  • You can now music and listen to it on the audio page.
  • Added a recent images block on the multimedia page so people can quickly access everyone's newest photos.
  • I have fixed the comments on the forums.
  • Blake and I manage to tackle the alumni page.
  • I have added a FAQ requested via Travis.
  • Private messaging system enabled!
  • I added profile pictures. Pictures are visible in comments as well as private messages to see who sent them. Profile pictures can also be chosen at registration.

If you want some other feature, private message me or leave a comment on this post, and I'll see what I can do.

Welcome!

Welcome to the JSU Marching Southerners Saxophones website. This website is dedicated to the Saxophones section of the nationally known Marching Southerners.

Blake and I are discussing the features of the website. So far, he has talked about wanting an image gallery as well as a music page to hear or see (not sure which?) music. If you guys have any other features, you might want me to add, let me know in the comment box (yeah, you have to register), and I'll see what I can do.
